In der Fantasy wird in letzter Zeit oft darüber diskutiert, wie man die Szene inklusiver und die Verlagsprogramme diverser gestalten kann. Dabei werden leider oft dieselben fünf Bücher bejubelt und als Positivbeispiele herangezogen. (Ich schwöre euch, wenn ich noch einmal „Ich bin Gideon“ höre, eskaliere ich. Ich weiß, viele liebe den Roman, aber mich hat er zu Tode gelangweilt.) Dabei ist Fantasy-Bubble viel, viel größer als wir meinen, und aus allen Ecken der Welt drängen Autor*innen auf die Bildfläche, deren Romane großartig klingen und mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdienen.
